CERTAIN at a glance: watch our project video
Automated mobility must remain safe not only when new systems are introduced, but throughout their entire lifecycle. As software, AI capabilities, operating conditions and interactions with human road users evolve, safety assurance must evolve with them.
Our new project video presents how CERTAIN is addressing this challenge. In under three minutes, it introduces the project’s objectives, methodology and expected results. It was designed as a silent visual loop for conferences and events, so no sound is required.
Resilient, continuous and human-centred safety assurance
CERTAIN is developing a comprehensive Safety Assurance Framework for connected, cooperative and automated mobility (CCAM). The framework combines scenario-based safety assurance, user-centred human–machine interface assessment, continuous in-service monitoring, trustworthy AI validation, V2X communication validation and hybrid testing methods.
The video introduces CERTAIN’s six key results and shows how the project brings these different components together. It also highlights what makes CERTAIN’s approach distinctive: the framework is use-case-agnostic, designed to adapt to emerging technologies and evolving AI capabilities, and validated through real-world use cases.
At the heart of CERTAIN is a human-centred approach. Automated systems must not only function safely; they must also interact with human road users in ways that are predictable, understandable and trustworthy.
Connecting the CCAM community through SAVVY
The video also introduces SAVVY, the European community platform for Simulation, Scenarios, Safety Assurance, Validation and Verification. Enabled by the SYNERGIES and CERTAIN projects, SAVVY connects researchers, industry, public authorities, policymakers, regulators and standardisation bodies working on CCAM safety assurance.
Community feedback will help shape the platform and its extension focusing on standards and regulations. Members can exchange knowledge, discuss gaps and needs, share experience from their own use cases and explore opportunities for cooperation.
Join the SAVVY community and help advance safe, trustworthy and scalable automated mobility.
